I have had the pleasure to work with David Stein on several occasions. I met him while working on the Malden Reads, one City one Book project.
David is truly interested in the community. He has contributed his time and talent on several occasions. My first encounter with David was while working on the Kick-off event of the Malden Reads project held at the Malden Public Library, Ryder Gallery in February 2011. He contributed delicious appetizers which were served to over 200 people in attendance.
Then in March he worked with me on the Stone Soup event sponsored by Oak Grove Improvement Association for the Malden Reads project. He volunteered to be the instructional chef, for over 60 parents and children. His wonderful recipes and ingredients combined with his easy-going, very approachable manner allowed the parents and children to help create two outstanding soups that were served to the Bread of Life clients. During two separate evening meals, everyone raved about the “stone soups” that were prepared which David helped to serve!
David’s culinary talents as well as his willingness to help, his kind nature and community spirit are the best ingredients for true success! David continues to work with the community and oh, did I forget to mention, a talented musician too!

First Parish in Malden, Universalist was thoroughly impressed and satisfied with the many scrumptious delights served by David Stein, Brother Trucker, at a recent Cabaret reception! David's meticulous preparation and professional presentation gave rise to many positive comments and inquiries! Love the grape tomatoes stuffed with goat cheese! It was the first time working with Brother Trucker but it surely will not be the last!
